Day 192 of 366: Vanishing Beauty

I grew up in Ostrava's district called Poruba. It is renowned for its distinctive 1950s architecture in a style which was known as Socialist Realism (SORELA). The big apartment blocks and wide boulevards feature statues and murals depicting perfect socialist worker family, not a very subtle propaganda. However some of the murals are much more delicate, making some of the hidden corners quite beautiful. It is a shame that the beauty is slowly disappearing under the layers of uninspiring graffiti.
