Trying to find Kilclooney Dolmen proved to be quite a challenge. It is not an official site on the Wild Atlantic Way, there are no signs along the way or even from the car park, and it is located on a private land. Our only help was the map we had. I was really glad that we persevered. With nobody around, it was quite an eerie feeling to stand in front of this majestic portal tomb. Especially when the sun rays broke through the dark clouds and momentarily flooded the scene with beautiful golden light. Peace and quiet, not a single sound, just voices of the past.
Silvery sea glistening with afternoon sunlight, rain sweeping across the sky, waves crashing against the distant rocks. Yet another special moment along the Wild Atlantic Way.
