Day 331 of 366: Walk through the Mist

"All I need is a tree now", I said when we were walking through thickening fog on Cleeve Hill on Cotswold Way. Then I heard Martin say "and here you have it". And he was right, out of nowhere there they were, looming out of the grey mist, leaning towards each other, silhouettes of two beautiful trees. Just for a moment. By the time I finished jumping up and down like a child in a sweet shop, the misty magic was gone. Like it always does. It comes so suddenly, unexpectedly, lingers for a while and moves on. It never stays for long. But while it lasts it makes me feel like I am on top of the world.
