Day 38 of 366: South Downs Way

I don't want to stay in the bad place, where no one believes in silver linings or love or happy endings.

At the beginning of the year Martin and I promised to ourselves that we will do more walking this year. To start with we decided to gradually complete the 100-mile long South Downs Way. So this was our second section from Exton to Buriton. It wasn't as easy as the first part we did last week, mainly because of the amount of mud we had to negotiate along the way. However we had some glorious weather to start with, which allowed us to get some amazing views. Typical rolling hills of the Downs slowly waking up after this year's short winter were covered with fresh green grass, the first sign of the early arrival of spring.

I love looking at the little details around me. It is very hard not to stop for a few photo opportunities. However when walking with Martin (he is not a photographer), I always have to be careful not to get carried away and not to stay too far behind.

The sky was really beautiful for most of the day. The clouds and the sun created a lovely sight, which reminded me of the film Silver Linings Playbook. So here are a few of my favourite quotes from the film.

It hurts to look at the clouds, but it also helps, like most things that cause pain.

Silver Linings

If clouds are blocking the sun, there will always be a silver lining that reminds me to keep on trying.
