Day 92 of 366: Gentleness

I have finally started using my new toy - Lensbaby Velvet 56. It is a beautiful lens which when fully open creates a wonderful bokeh. The late afternoon light helped create the soft feel of this gentle flower.

Believe it or not, gerbera is the fifth most popular flower in the world after the rose, carnations, chrysanthemum, and tulip. Traditionally gerberas convey beauty, innocence, purity and cheerfulness. The Egyptian meaning of gerberas is closeness to nature and devotion to the sun. The Celts believed that the gerbera would lessen the sorrows and stresses of everyday life. The Victorian meaning of gerberas is happiness, a perfect way to brighten up somebody's day. I couldn't agree more.

Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength.
