Looking Back

The new year is in full swing. We put away the Christmas decorations, recovered from all the celebrations. The lazy days of indulgence were replaced by early morning commute back to work. With the first week of being back to normal almost over, it's about time for reflecting on the past year.

Last year witnessed a big change in my photography world. My decision to let go of building wedding and portrait photography business brought me back to my old path. My passion for landscapes was re-ignited, and I gained the freedom to spend more time outside, in the places I love so much. I gradually started to realise where my heart really was. That it's not only the stunning vistas that can take my breath away. That there is more to beauty than what is just right in front of my eyes. So my path led me to creating images of much quieter nature. Images reflecting silence and solitude, when I feel most at peace and most creative.

Over the last twelve months I have also met many amazing people. Some of them are those of you who give me great support and inspiration on social media sites.

With my partner Martin we shared many happy memories, including a holiday of a lifetime. The three weeks we spent touring America were one of the highlights of our year. We saw some breathtaking views, and enjoyed company of some of the nicest people we ever met.

It was a year of self-discovery, a year of walking in a new direction. This year I look forward to discovering where my path will lead me next.  I look forward to enjoying the journey to the unknown, learning more about myself and further developing my skills and vision.

I would like to take this opportunity and thank you all for being so wonderful, for all your support. I really appreciate you giving me a glimpse of your time, which is such precious commodity for all of us. Have a great year, full of happy moments worth to remember, and I hope to see you from time to time somewhere along the path, no matter whether it is yours or mine.

  2. I love your quiet, simple gestures of light and water and land. They portray your dance with the landscape and I am so glad to have met and spent time with you and Martin. Thanks for all of your sharing and acceptance of my work, too.

  3. Just beautiful Vanda! I seem to fall in love with every one of your images! They have a wonderful way of putting you into that moment. I shall eagerly await till you publish and I can purchase a signed copy! :)

    1. Dear Tracey. Thank you so much for your kind comment, for all your kind comments. I am really flattered that you like the images. And I am very happy that you can see what I saw when I was taking them. I hope that one day I will have a book, and will be honoured to sign it for you :)
