One Photo A Day: May 2016

When April steps aside for May,
Like diamonds all the rain-drops glisten;
Fresh violets open every day:
To some new bird each hour we listen.

I feel like on a treadmill. Just as I manage to catch up with processing one month, a new month is well on its way. I can't believe that five months of the year are gone. They flew by perhaps because they were full of unforgettable moments which this project made me capture in some of my pictures.

May is a very special month. In the Czech Republic, where I come from, it is celebrated as a month of love. By coincidence or fate, it is the month Martin and I met. Every year we celebrate our love by trying to complete the same walk on which we met - The Three Peaks of Yorkshire. This time we only did two, but enjoyed it nevertheless. We also  finished the 100 mile-long South Downs Way. What a great feeling to achieve what we planned and started at the beginning of the year.

So here is to the month of love, spring and wonderful memories. I wonder what June will bring.

Sweet May hath come to love us,
Flowers, trees, their blossoms don;
And through the blue heavens above us
The very clouds move on.

Heinrich Heine
