What Dreams Are Made Of

Micheldever Wood becomes a very popular place in spring for its spectacular display of bluebells. The whole woodland floor is covered with a blue carpet of these lovely flowers and the beech trees show off their fresh green coat, which shines so brightly when the light is right...

I had been planning a trip there for a while, waiting for the right time and weather. Last weekend seemed to be a good time but I was really torn between staying in and working on a backlog of my photographs, helping my partner with decorating and going out with my camera. Martin is very tolerant and always encourages my passion for photography. So the decision was even harder because I really wanted to help him. In the end I decided not to make any decisions and see what happens when I wake up... if I wake up early enough... And then I had a dream. I saw my Granny's beautiful face. My Granny passed away a few years ago and I have never stopped missing her.  Seeing her loving smile felt so real that I woke up. It was 4:45. I took it as a sign. Believe it or not, my Granny woke me up into a delightful morning with clear sky promising a sunny day ahead... As a result I spent a few wonderful hours in the bluebell forest with the light I could only dream of...

I dedicate this image to my beautiful Granny. It will always remind me of her and all the love she always had for me...

  1. What a beautiful picture Vanda. I love the dreamy-like quality you have captured as the sun pushes through the trees and foliage. You can feel the warmth of that early morning sun – magical!

  2. Your granny obviously knew your heart and the keeness of your photographic eye. It’s wonderful that her love and care for you manifests itself in such beauty. Nice work.

    1. Thank you very much Deborah. My Granny was and still is very special to me. She knew me so well, we were very close… She will always have a place in my heart…
