Day 101 of 366: The Rose Remembers

Our last day in Devon. Sunday was the day of our presentation to the Visual Arts group of the Royal Photographic Society, which is run by our friend and an amazing photographer Linda Wevill. Linda's images are beautifully crafted and capture the mood and atmosphere of a place.

I felt honoured to be talking about my passion for photography alongside my friend and outstanding photographer Sue Bishop, whose flower and landscape images are sublime. Her presentation was engaging, witty and inspiring.

As you can imagine I didn't have time to take photographs during the day, so I took a sneaky flower portrait in Linda's home before we set off. In the end I was glad because my new toy Lensbaby got some airing again, and I learnt a little bit more about it. One step at a time.

Beauty never slumbers;
All is in her name;
But the rose remembers
The dust from which it came.
